St. John's Foundation Youth Ministries is led by youth director, Jimi Whitesell and assistant youth director, Amy Jernigan. Jimi and Amy make a great team focused on fun ways to connect the St. John's youth to the church and grow their faith in God. St. John's is a Safe Sanctuary Church and all volunteers are subject to background checks and must abide by all safe sanctuary policies. The Student Ministries program meets on Sunday Nights from 6:00-7:30pm. Dinner is served each Sunday night, with a $2 collection accepted per student. High School and Middle School students disperse to separate areas for Bible Study, with the exception of one Sunday a month in which we all worship together in the chapel. Activities vary on Sunday nights in addition to Bible Study. Some activities include game nights, movie nights, and messy night!

Each year St. John's offers an extensive class to help sixth graders prepare to become full members of St. John's United Methodist Church. Direction and guidance includes weekly instruction and time with adult teachers.
This program is offered on Sunday nights from 6:00-7:30 for all sixth grade students. Youth 101 was designed to encourage sixth graders to get accustomed to coming to church on Sunday nights and getting involved with other students the same age before fully participating in Student Ministry programs as a seventh grader. A collection of $2 is accepted for dinner and games and Bible study are part of the agenda.
Our largest spiritual retreat of the year is held at Asbury Hills Camp and Retreat Center which is a ministry of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference. As you approach the camp, you will find a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You will retreat to a natural setting, with views of Caesar's Head and Table Rock as well as the clear waters of Matthews Creek that flows through the property. You will have the opportunity through worship, small groups and nature, renew your relationship with God.
