Harry grew up in Aiken and attended school here including Aiken High School and the University of South Carolina Aiken Campus. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from USC in Columbia. He is married to the former Caroline Holley who was also raised in Aiken. They have two children, Josh in Athens, GA and Holley in Aiken. The gift that they have given is grandchildren, Henry in Athens and Cole in Aiken. Harry has served as the business administrator for St. John's since 2006.
Susan McDonald, Office Administrator

Susan McDonald has been the Office Administrator since 2011, coming to St. John's from IBM where she was a traveling consultant. Susan grew up in a small town in Virginia and attended Radford University. She currently lives in Graniteville, SC with her husband, Terry, and their dog BooBoo. They love to spend time traveling and camping in their fifth-wheeler. Susan and Terry have a daughter, Katie and a grandson, Brandon.
Stephanie Lord, Office Administrator

Stephanie grew up in Aiken and has been a lifelong member of St. John's. She graduated from South Aiken High and attended USC Aiken, earning a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. Stephanie became our Office Administrator in 2018 after serving at the church's Director of Children's Ministries and has been serving the church since June 2013. She and her husband, Rocky, live in Aiken with their son, Sawyer.
Midge Rothrock, Director of Communications

Born in Ohio, the youngest with a dozen siblings, Midge has been a lifelong learner. She holds a degree in Fine Arts and in Communications, an MBA, and is certified in 41 specific training and development tools and programs, as well as certifications in her primary career field of Organizational Development. Midge has held senior executive positions with Hughes Aircraft, and Advantica (the parent corporation of several restaurant chains), as well as Director of Unisys. Midge has served on the St. John's staff since 2008 as well as serving on many Boards of Directors around the country. She writes a column for the Aiken Standard and the Mature Times. She has two sons, Andy, a managing engineer with General Electric, and Martin, a USAF Colonel, and three grandchildren.

Nancy was born in Long Island, New York and has been living in Aiken since 2006 when she joined the staff at St. John's as the Financial Director. She has three sons, two daughters-in-law, and four granddaughters. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and the warm weather of the South.

Becca is a recent graduate of Mississippi State with Marketing degree. While there she met her husband Alex and they moved to Aiken when he accepted a job at SRS. She enjoys baking and reading and is "mom" to two cats, Charlie and Olive.
Catherine Stapleton Nance, Director of Music

Catherine Stapleton Nance grew up in SC as the daughter of a United Methodist minister. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Converse College, after which she moved to New York City and earned her Master of Music in Vocal Performance. For several years, she enjoyed a successful career in singing, both in musical theater and opera. After marrying Tom Nance in 1993, she made Aiken her home, teaching on the faculty of USC Aiken. In 2001, she became the Director of Music Ministries at St. John's and felt that for the first time, she was truly fulfilling God's calling in her life. She directs the older elementary choir and Chancel Choir, which provides musical leadership in the 11 a.m. worship service. Catherine and her husband, Tom, who is also active in the church, have two children, John Luke and Sophie, both of whom grew up in St. John's and feel blessed to have such strong church support.
Christopher Nash, Organist and Assistant Director of Music
Christopher is originally from Greenwood, SC where he began musical studies at a very young age. He received his degree in Organ Performance from University of South Carolina in Columbia. He has performed throughout the Southeast and was accompanist for the University Choir during his time at USC. Christopher has been a veteran of church music for over 20 years and considers it an honor and joyous occasion to sit down and play a worship service. Our hand bell choir, the 8:30 Sonrise Choir, and the Foundation Singers (our youth choir) are also under the direction of Christopher. In addition to his job in our music ministry, he also owns a retail holdings company, based out of Columbia.
Heather Long, Director of Children's Ministries

Heather grew up in a small town near Jacksonville, Florida. She received her Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of North Florida. Heather and her family moved to Aiken in 2015 from Hawaii when her husband transitioned from Active Duty to Naval Reserves. Heather serves as our Director of Children’s Ministries. Heather is married to Zach and they have two children, Riley and Brock.
Jimi Whitesell, Director of Student Ministries

Jimi has served as the Director of Student Ministries since 2009 and served as the Assistant Youth Director for 2 years prior to that. He is originally from Columbia, SC. He moved to Aiken in 2007 when he married his wife, Julie Moore. They have two children, Baxter and Shyla. Jimi received an Associate in Arts from Midlands Technical College and studied History at Clemson University.
Amy Jernigan, Assistant Director of Student Ministries

Amy moved to Aiken in 2005 and has been a member of St. John's UMC since 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Columbia College and a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University. Amy spent 8 years teaching in public schools in Columbia and Aiken. She has been on staff since June 2013. She serves as the Assistant Director of Student Ministries. Amy is married to Drew and they have three daughters, Ella, Eva and Eliza Jewel.
Michelle Pearson, SEED Director
Michelle was born in Lansing, Michigan, but has lived in Aiken for 40 years. She and her husband, Barry, have two sons and a daughter, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and many "grand-pets!" To her, the best aspect of being the Director is watching the children laugh and learn while sharing the love of Jesus Christ with them. She has been on the staff at St. John's since 1994.
Greg Robinson, Media Manager
Greg was born in Carrollton, Georgia. Growing up, he attended 9 different schools in 7 different states and is now happy to call Aiken home. He is married to Peg, whom he met in the 9th grade. They have one son and two grandsons. He retired from AGY in 2015 and almost immediately came to work for St. John's.
Facility Maintenance Staff
Dean Ray, Facilities Manager

Dean grew up in Denmark, SC where he spent his free time hunting, fishing, and working on the family farm. He graduated from Clemson University in 1999 and began his career at St. John's in 2015.
Dean was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2011 and after six months of chemotherapy and three years of follow up, he is cancer free. Dean operates an inshore fishing service near Edisto and donates a gift toward the fight against cancer from each charter.
Dean is married to Lisa and they have two boys, Harrison and Jace.
Ensley Adams, Custodian
Ensley Adams was born in Jackson, SC. He moved to Aiken when he was six years old. Ed and Claire Norton are his parents. He has one brother, Michael Norton and his wife Leigh. He has two nieces, Lauren and Allie of whom he is very proud. He also has his grandmother who lives in Jackson that he is very fond of. He attended Walden Hall School in North Augusta and graduated from Freedman Vocational High School in Graniteville. Ensley has served as custodian at St. John's UMC since 2001 and thinks there is no better place to work.
